Diphosphoryl chloride Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Put the mixture of phosphorus oxychloride and phosphorus pentoxide (molar ratio of 8:1) into the reaction tube and heat it at 200°C for 48 hours, transfer the reaction product to a flask immersed in a hot water bath, and use a reduced pressure method ( 12mnHg) Distilled to remove unreacted phosphorus oxychloride, and then distilled on a sand bath at 250°C and 12 mmHg. The product is repeatedly distilled under reduced pressure on a boiling water bath to obtain pure pyrophosphoryl chloride. 4POCl3+P2O5→3P2O3C14

Uses

Used in pharmaceutical and other organic synthesis, used as laser materials and electronic components.
