ChEBI: Amido Black 10B is an organic sodium salt resulting from the formal condensation of Amido Black 10B (acid form) with two equivalents of sodium hydroxide. It has a role as a histological dye. It contains a 4-amino-5-hydroxy-3-[(p-nitrophenyl)azo]-6-(phenylazo)-naphthalene-2,7-disulfonate.

Acid Black 2 Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Take alcohol-soluble nigrosine as raw material, sulfonate with concentrated sulfuric acid, remove waste acid, wash with water, and neutralize with sodium hydroxide to obtain the product. After filtering and drying, the finished product is obtained. Alcohol-soluble nigrosine (C.I.50415) Preparation method: Nitrobenzene, aniline and aniline hydrochloride are heated together with iron or copper at 180-200℃ to obtain the product. After pickling, washing, filtering and drying, the finished product is obtained. Alternatively, nitrophenol (or nitrocresol), aniline, aniline hydrochloride and a small amount of iron are heated at 180-200°C to obtain the product. After pickling, washing, filtering and drying, the finished product is obtained.

Uses

Biological staining, such as staining of central nervous tissue, pancreatic tissue, cell spores, etc.


It is employed as a common biological stain for tissues and cells. Used to make inks and shoe-polish and for dyeing leather, wood, textiles, and plastics. The crude mixture of nigrosine hydrochlorides (Phenol Black L) is used to dye phenolic resins. Bases are used to make printing colors and to dye plastics. It finds its use in Dorners spore stain, as a negative stain in place of India ink for spirochetes, bacteria, protozoa and fungi. It is also used in compounding resins include phenolic resins, styrenics, polyamides and urea resins.
