copper(I) acetate

Copper diacetate monohydrate Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

1. Copper sulfate pentahydrate dissolved in water, filtration, and the other to take sodium carbonate dissolved in water, slowly adding copper sulfate solution, filter out the precipitate, on the water, adding ammonia stirring, basic copper carbonate, then add Glacial acetic acid, filtration, washing with water, drying in the finished product. 2. Take 50g of copper sulfate pentahydrate dissolved in 500mL water, spare. Another take 57g of sodium carbonate decahydrate dissolved in 240mL of water, heated to 60 ℃, while stirring will have a good solution of copper sulfate added to the solution, basic copper carbonate precipitation, standing, filter out the precipitate precipitation, with heat Water to no SO2-4. The resulting precipitate was placed in 300 mL of water, 2 mL of aqueous ammonia was added with stirring, and the supernatant was poured out, and the precipitate was washed several times with ammonia water and distilled water. To the beaker was added 180 mL of water, 22 g of acetic acid was added, the mixture was heated to 60 ° C, and the washed basic cupric carbonate was added with stirring to the bottom of the vessel to give a slight excess of basic copper carbonate. Filtration, the filtrate evaporated to the original volume of 1/3, the cooling, crystal precipitation, filter crystal, washed with 2mL water, dried at room temperature, in the finished product. Mother liquor to further evaporate, to quickly crystallization, adding 5mL 25% acetic acid, standing, can be part of the crystallization, yield 32 ~ 35g. Analysis of pure anhydrous copper acetate (Ⅱ) with dilute acetic acid recrystallization, can be obtained copper acetate (Ⅱ) monohydrate. 3. Copper sulfate dissolved in hot water, adding hot sodium carbonate solution, which generates copper carbonate precipitation; filtration, washing, and then dissolved in acetic acid, evaporated and concentrated, the crystallization of washing, drying, that was copper acetate:

Uses

Copper(II) acetate is used as a pigment for ceramics; in the manufacture of Paris green; in textile dyeing; as a fungicide; and as a catalyst. Cupric acetate monohydrate can be used in preparation of Fehling's reagent for sugars
