Ethyl2-(2-bromophenyl)acetate Use and Manufacturing

A solution of 15 g (69.8 mmol) of (2-bromo-phenyl)-acetic acid in 50 ml_ ethanol was cooled to OGeneral procedure: A solution of 3 g (13.8 mmol) of 2-(2-bromophenyl)-acetic in 10 mL ethanol was cooled to 0 , and 1.6 ml (22 mmol) thionylchloride was added drop wise. The reaction mixture was heated to 50 . Over night.After cooling to room temperature the solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The residue was mixed withethyl acetate and filtered over 6 g basic aluminium oxide. The filtrate was evaporated under reduced pressure. 3.5g (89percent) of the ethyl 2-(2-bromophenyl)acetate (1d) were obtained.General procedure: To a 20 mL vial with a stir bar was added aryl halide 1 (2.00 mmol), Pd(dba)
