2-Trifluoromethyl-4-chloroaniline Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

The preparation method uses 2-methyl-3-chloroaniline as a raw material, diazonium reaction with hydrofluoric acid, boron trifluoride, and sodium nitrite at 140°C, and then the diazonium compound is decomposed into products.

Uses

Used as dye intermediate 2-Amino-5-chloro-trifluoromethylbenzene, also known as 2-trifluoromethyl-4-chloroaniline, is an intermediate of the fungicide fluconazole. The big red base VD is mainly used for dyeing and printing of cotton cloth, and also for dyeing viscose fiber. Coupling with Naphthol AS and AS-E gives a bright yellowish red color with excellent light fastness. This product has strong coupling ability and slow coupling speed. When printing, naphthol AS, AS-D is often used as a primer to print directly; or with naphthol AS, AS-D to dye red on cotton cloth for the ground color of discharge printing. This product is an important intermediate for the synthesis of fluorine-containing herbicides, medicines and dyes.
