2-Chloro-5-hydroxymethylpyridine Use and Manufacturing
The preparation method is that 2-chloro-5-chloromethylpyridine reacts with sodium acetate in a solvent to generate the corresponding acetate, and then hydrolyzes to generate the product. Or add 2-chloro-3-cyanopyridine methanol and 6% H2SO4 aqueous solution into the hydrogenation reactor, and then add water-containing Raney nickel as the catalyst to stir and pass hydrogen. After the reaction, remove the catalyst and evaporate the methanol. The product was neutralized by NaOH aqueous solution, extracted with chloroform, and evaporated to remove the chloroform.
2-chloro-5-hydroxymethylpyridine is an intermediate of the insecticides imidacloprid and acetamiprid.
