A new wheat variety Hangmai 106 with high yield and high quality was transformed

On Nov. 3, the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences, the Institute of Nuclear Technology and Biotechnology of the Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Jiushenghe Seed Industry Co., LTD. (Jiushenghe) signed a contract to transfer a new wheat variety Hangmai 106 in Beijing. Liu Luxiang, Party Secretary of the Institute, Zhang Yueqiang, deputy director of the Institute, and Gao Xuefei, vice president of JiuShenghe signed the contract on behalf of the contracting party. Wang Aihua, president of Jiushenghe attended the meeting. Wang Wensheng, deputy director of the Department, presided over the meeting.

Hangmai 106 was co-bred by the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and the Institute of Nuclear Biology, and passed the variety approval of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in 2022 (New Review Mai 2022 037). Xindong 18, the test control in the growth period of Hangmai 106, has three days of early maturity, big ears and big grains, white, horny, full grains, good lodging resistance, high resistance to mildew, leaf rust and stripe rust, and high quality of medium gluten type. In the regional experiment of winter wheat in northern Xinjiang, the average yield per mu in two years was 556.60 kg, which was 12.56% higher than that of the control Xindong 33 and 11.55% higher than that of the control Xindong 18. In the production test, the average yield per mu was 610.58 kg, which was 10.38% higher than that of the control Xindong 33 and 5.78% higher than that of the control Xindong 18. In 2022, the 5.8-mu demonstration land in Qitai, Xinjiang yielded 801.2 kg per mu.
