Isopropyl alcohol market prices continue to fall in November in China

I. Price Trends
According to the commodity market analysis system, the price of isopropyl alcohol in China has been continuously declining in November. On November 1, the average price of isopropyl alcohol in China was 5675 CNY/ton, and on November 28, the average price was 5433.33 CNY/ton, a decrease of 4.26% compared to the beginning of the month.
In November, the isopropanol market prices in China declined. In the first ten days, the trading atmosphere in the market was poor, with weak downstream purchasing interest, and transaction prices moved towards the lower end. In the middle of the month, the price of raw material acetone fell, and cost support was moderate; traders lacked confidence, leading to a downward shift in transaction prices. In the last ten days, the trading atmosphere remained sluggish, with downstream demand being mainly for essential needs. Traders adjusted their prices according to the market, resulting in a slight decline. As of now, most quotations for isopropanol in Shandong region are around 5300-5500 CNY/ton, while in Jiangsu region, they are around 5350-5600 CNY/ton.
Regarding acetone raw materials, the Chinese acetone market experienced volatile declines in November. On November 1, the average price of acetone was 4,275 CNY per ton, while on November 28, the average price dropped to 4,225 CNY per ton—a decrease of 1.17%. Currently, trading activity in the market is moderate, and sellers are under pressure, with quoted prices fluctuating downward.
Regarding propylene raw materials, the Chinese propylene market saw an upward trend in November. On November 1, the average market price was 6,058.25 CNY per ton, and by November 28, the average price had risen to 6,180.75 CNY per ton—a price increase of 2.02%. Currently, propylene producers are slowing down their shipments, while buyers remain largely on the sidelines, watching the market closely. It is expected that the market will continue to fluctuate weakly.
III. Future Market Forecast
The isopropanol analyst from the Chemical Sub-division believes: In November, the isopropanol market prices in China have fallen. Currently, the trading atmosphere in the isopropanol market in China is subdued, with transactions mainly driven by rigid demand, and many are cautiously observing. It is expected that in the short term, the isopropanol market in China will mainly experience fluctuation within a range, with close attention being paid to the trends in the raw material market.
