Contains tea tree oil, Summit Agro pushes mixed fungicide in America

ECHEMI 2020-05-15

Recently, Summit Agro announced the introduction of REGEV, the first mixed fungicide for US agriculture, containing tea tree oil and difenoconazole.

REGEV is the world's first mixed fungicide for leaves developed by the Israeli biopesticide company Stockton (STK). In April 2019, Summit Agro and Stockton signed a cooperation agreement for the exclusive distribution of REGEV in the United States. At present, REGEV has been registered in more than ten countries including Israel, Guatemala, Serbia, Peru, Philippines, and Argentina.

Fred Yates, plant product marketing manager at Summit Agro, said: "REGEV combines the active ingredients of tea tree oil and difenoconazole, combining the advantages of plant-derived products and traditional chemical fungicides, providing a variety of crop growers with a A very effective disease control product, while reducing the use of chemical pesticides and bringing new tools for resistance management. ”Yates added:“ REGEV has a wide range of crops, a broad spectrum of control, and can improve plant growth and increase yield. ”

The "mixed" nature of REGEV means that the chemical load in the applied crop can be reduced, which distinguishes it from traditional products. In addition, the multiple modes of action contained in REGEV are very unlikely to develop resistance or cross-resistance to plant pathogens.

REGEV will be used in the production of major crops such as soybeans, rice and potatoes as well as specialty crops such as gourds, fruit vegetables, bulb vegetables, brassica leaf vegetables, legume vegetables, grapes, nuts and citrus.

Yates explained: “Studies have shown that adding tea oil to difenoconazole can increase the efficacy of difenoconazole and its sensitivity to fungal isolates.” Most importantly, growers can now obtain The excellent control effect brought by the two active ingredients, and only one residual substance.
