Bayer will market an innovative Bixafen fungicide in Brazil
Recently, at the Hortitec exhibition in Brazil 2024, Bayer presented its newly developed fungicide Valpura, containing the active ingredient Bixafen. At present, Valpura is still in the pre-launch stage.
Valpura is an endogenous fungicide that provides a highly effective and long-lasting disease control program for crops by inhibiting the production of succinate dehydrogenase (SDHI). This breakthrough product is expected to significantly increase the production potential of crops such as potatoes, tomatoes, grapes and apples, providing a strong guarantee for the healthy growth of crops.
A highlight of Bayer's portfolio, Valpura, along with the company's other innovative tomato rootstocks such as Multifort and Gumgang, forms Bayer's strong product line in agricultural technology.
The marketing manager of Bayer's horticultural brand Seminis noted at the show that the use of commercial rootstocks is becoming increasingly popular in tomato cultivation, not only because of the many benefits that rootstocks can bring to the crop, but also because of their significant effect in improving crop resistance and productivity. The principle is that through grafting technology, the tissues of two different plants are fused to make full use of the ideal characteristics of each plant and achieve high efficiency of crop growth.
Hortitec provides Bayer with an excellent platform to showcase its comprehensive solutions. Through this platform, Bayer shows partners and farmers how technology can be used to support the whole process from planting to harvesting, encouraging sustainable and efficient farming in terms of pest and weed control, while ensuring better profitability for farmers
