Adama's Maxentis® creates new solutions for integrated disease prevention in multiple crops

2024-04-10

Adama recently announced the launch in Europe of a new multifunctional fungicide, Maxentis®, designed to provide farmers with a one-stop solution to effectively control major diseases in a wide range of crops, including wheat, barley and canola, thereby increasing yields and profitability.

Maxentis® consists of two active ingredients, Azoxystrobin and Prothioconazole, which combine the two modes of action to achieve a synergistic effect at different stages of disease growth. The product can effectively control leaf blight, stripe rust and leaf rust in wheat. Tan disease, net blotch and rust in barley; Sclerotiniose and the diseases caused by alternaria in rape.

It is worth mentioning that Maxentis®, as a non-SDHI fungicide, can be used in combination with SDHI agents during the critical flag leaf phase of wheat to achieve efficient rotation of fungicide use. At the same time, Maxentis® can be used flexibly, either in combination with other fungicides in the T1 phase of high-yielding wheat, or alone in the T1 or T2 phase of low and medium growing areas.

Adama's global head of fungicides says farmers are in desperate need of a versatile, easy-to-use product to prevent and control major diseases in many crops. Maxentis® can not only effectively control disease, but also reduce the complexity and cost of application, helping farmers easily increase their returns.

Maxentis® is part of Adama's new cereal fungicide series to be launched in Europe in 2023 and will be available in continental Europe, the United Kingdom and Ireland throughout 2024 to provide farmers with comprehensive disease protection.
