Singapore has imposed temporary import restrictions on poultry products from areas affected by the bird flu outbreak in the United States
On 7 November 2022, the Food Authority of Singapore (SFA) announced the suspension of imports of poultry and its products from the vicinity of HPAI outbreaks in the United States.
As a result of the H5 highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreaks in Adams County, Pennsylvania, and Roberts County, South Dakota in the United States, Singapore will impose temporary restrictions on the import of poultry and its products within 10km of the affected areas. Poultry products that meet the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) requirements for avian influenza virus inactivation for heat treatment will not be affected by the import restrictions.
Poultry products exported from Adams County, Pennsylvania before October 17, 2022 and killed before October 3, 2022 will continue to be accepted for import. Poultry products exported from Roberts County, South Dakota, before October 19, 2022 and killed before October 5, 2022 will continue to be accepted for import.
