Synthetic fragrance shortage: leaf alcohol, thithiazole, butyric acid, vanillin
The global fragrance company De Monchy Aromatics released a market report in May and made an exclusive analysis of the market conditions of more than ten natural and synthetic fragrances around the world. Today, look at the situation of four aromatic chemicals.
Leaf alcohol: supply of natural products cuts, pressure on synthetic products increases
Affected by the embargo measures, India cut off the supply of natural-grade leaf alcohols and their derivatives from the EU; due to severe manufacturing restrictions and the difficulty in purchasing raw materials, it is predicted that this situation will not change in the near future.
This brings greater supply pressure to the already tight synthetic folic alcohol.
Thiathiazole: the price of raw materials doubles and the lead time is long
The price of thiazole raw materials has doubled, and many factories have ceased production. The price of thithiazole is rising, and the production lead time (from order to delivery) is very long.
Butyric acid (EU natural grade): extremely short supply
Prices have recently risen because of high demand and extremely short supply.
Vanillin/Ethyl Vanillin: prices remain high
Prices are still high; production at major Chinese factories has resumed, but available inventory is still under pressure as demand continues to rise.
