An outbreak of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex infection occurred in Norway

According to the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), on December 9, 2022, the Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture and Food reported to WOAH that an outbreak of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex infection occurred in Norway.

 
The outbreak occurred in the city of Syrdal in Rogaland County and was confirmed on 8 December 2022. The source of the outbreak is unknown or uncertain. Laboratory tests found that 106 cattle were suspected to be infected, including 1 with a disease; Another 50 sheep/goats (mixed herds) are suspected to be infected.
 
The outbreak is still ongoing, and the Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture and Food will submit a follow-up report on a weekly basis.
