On December 22, 2022, the EPA issued Regulation 2022-27869 to exempt the Iron Oxide residue limit, according to the Federal Register.

According to the regulations, iron oxide is exempt from residue limits when used on animals as an inert component (colorant) in insecticides.
The rule takes effect on December 22, 2022, and requests for objections or hearings must be filed by February 21, 2023.
