South Korea SK launched the world's largest blue hydrogen project
Recently, SK E&S of South Korea announced that it had obtained the regulatory approval of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Resources of South Korea and would officially launch the implementation of the world's largest blue hydrogen project.
The company plans to invest about 5 trillion won in the future to build the world's largest LNG cold and hot blue hydrogen production base near the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Baoning, South Zhongqing Road. After the completion of the project, the target of 250000 tons of blue hydrogen per year can be achieved. Among them, 200000 tons of gas hydrogen will be supplied to nearby areas through pipelines for hydrogen power generation such as fuel cells; The remaining 50000 tons will be supplied to hydrogen stations throughout the country in the form of liquefied hydrogen for hydrogenation of hydrogen vehicles.
It is reported that SK E&S disclosed this information at the recent special review committee of industry integration regulations. The official name of the project is "construction and operation of a plant for producing clean hydrogen and liquefied hydrogen from LNG cold and hot", which has been approved by the South Korean government with special cases.
