Clariant pushes new cosmetic chemicals
Recently, Clariant's active ingredients business chain announced the launch of Prenylium, the first product launched by Clariant after establishing a new partnership with French biotech company Plant Advanced Technologies (PAT), aimed at improving skin smoothness and delaying signs of aging.
According to reports, Prenylium is a unique mulberry root extract that can effectively protect the skin matrix from the erosion of time and ultraviolet rays. Clariant uses PAT’s patented plant milking technology to produce Prenylium, which can explore the normally hard-to-reach plant roots without damaging the trees, allowing the production of industrial-grade rare compounds. Prenylium contains a very high concentration of flavonoids, which is 2000% higher than the traditional mulberry root extract.
Alexandre Lapeyre, Marketing Director of Clariant's Active Ingredients Business Chain, said that Prenylium is a market-friendly active ingredient that skin care product formulators particularly favor and can help formulators actively develop effective skin care solutions for the "anti-aging" group. In addition, through a controllable cultivation environment and sustainable access to tree roots, the traceability and reliability of product ingredients can be guaranteed, which is essential to ensure the future sustainable development of the beauty industry.
