Event: 14th Edition of Chemspec India to Begin From April 25 in Mumbai

Chemical Weekly 2018-04-19

The fourteenth edition of India’s only dedicated event for the fine and speciality chemicals community – Chemspec India 2018 – will be held on April 25 and 26 in Mumbai. The expo is organised by MackBrooks Exhibitions, a leading UK-based trade events organiser & publishers of Speciality Chemicals Magazine, in association with Chemical Weekly, India’s leading news magazine for the chemicals industry.

The fine and speciality chemicals industry in India is estimated to be a $30-bn market, growing at 10-12% annually – faster than the chemical sector as a whole. The strong industry growth has reflected in the phenomenal growth of the exhibition over the years and Chemspec India has now emerged as a must-attend trading and networking platform for both domestic and international buyers and sellers of fine and speciality chemicals. Over 11,000 professional visitors from around the globe participated in the 2017 edition.

More than 300 companies participating

This year, over 300 leading companies from India, Europe, the US, and China are set to showcase their products and services at Hall 1 in the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Goregaon. Participating companies at the Chemspec India expo will represent diverse sectors as organic & fine chemicals, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), drug intermediates, dyes & pigments, agrochemicals, contract & toll manufacturing, coatings, cosmetic chemicals / ingredients, pigments & solvents, surfactants, laboratory chemicals, and a wide range of speciality chemicals. The 2018 edition will have a special focus on water treatment chemicals and the wastewater treatment industry.

As in the previous edition, co-located events at this year’s Chemspec India will include the 9th edition of ChemProtech India – an international event on chemical process equipment & technology; and the 4th edition of ChemLogistics India, focused on chemical warehousing, transport & logistics. The 3rd edition of ‘HPIC India’ – yet another co-located event – will feature companies dealing in ingredients for home, personal & institutional care sectors.

Industry pavilions

Chemspec India 2018 will have a country pavilion from the global chemical industry powerhouse – China – as also a dedicated pavilion for members of the Association of Small and Medium Chemical Manufacturers (ASMECHEM).

Major chemical industry associations supporting the event include:

>Chemical Manufacturers’ Association (ISCMA);

>Association of Small & Medium Chemical Manufacturers (ASME-CHEM);

>Chemical and Alkali Indian Chemical Council (ICC);

>Indian Speciality Merchants’ Association (CAMA);

>Pesticides Manufacturers & Formulators Association of India (PMFAI); and

>Indian Surfactants Group (ISG).

Free educational programme

The informative and exhaustive conference programme organised in special seminar halls on the show floor will once again bring together some of the leading industry experts and academicians from India and abroad.

Of particular interest to the home and personal care industry professionals are the ‘4th Indian Surfactants Conference: Business Outlook & Challenges’ and the ‘Indian Home & Personal Care Industry: Market Opportunities & Challenges’ conference to be held on April 25. Entry to the conferences is free of charge, however pre-registration is advised.

Other free-to-attend seminars at the show floor include:

>‘Water Treatment Conference’ (on April 25);

>‘Indian Agrochemical Industry: Technology, Markets and Regulations (on April 25);

>‘Chemical Logistics & Regulations Conference’ (on April 26); and
