Canada approves a lactase for use in low-lactase preparations and some dairy products

On February 2023, 2, Health Canada issued document NOM/ADM-6, which intends to revise the list of permitted food enzymes and approve lactase from Bacillus subtilis DH0193 for low lactase preparations and parts Dairy.

 
It is understood that Canada has approved lactase from other sources for low-lactase preparations and some dairy products. However, Bacillus subtilis DH617 has not been approved as a source organism for any enzyme.
 
The amendments are effective as of February 2023, 2.
