China's Ministry of Commerce: will further improve and issue export control list

China's Ministry of Commerce spokesman Gao Feng said on the 22nd that the Ministry of Commerce will actively promote the legislative work of the supporting regulations of the export control law to ensure the effective implementation of the systems established by the export control law, and at the same time, further improve and timely release the export control list in accordance with the provisions of the law.

Gao said at a regular online press conference held by the Ministry of Commerce on the same day that in order to better fulfill relevant international obligations, adapt to the needs of export control work under the new situation and safeguard China's national security and interests, the legislative work related to the export control law has been launched in 2017. On the basis of summarizing the previous experience, drawing on international practice, upgrading the legislative level, the development of export control law, to oversee the export control work, to provide a more powerful rule of law protection for the relevant work.

Gao Feng introduction, the implementation of export control, is an internationally accepted practice to fulfill international obligations such as non-proliferation. Since the late 1990s, China has enacted six administrative regulations on export control, including regulations on the management of controlled chemicals, nuclear export control and export control of nuclear dual-use items and related technologies, in order to fulfil its relevant international obligations.
