China's first eight months of foreign trade imports and exports rose 10.1% year-on-year

It is reported that the General Administration of Customs released data on the 7th, the first eight months of this year, China's total import and export value of trade in goods 27.3 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.1%.


Specifically, China's exports in the first eight months of 15.48 trillion yuan, up 14.2%; imports of 11.82 trillion yuan, up 5.2%; trade surplus of 3.66 trillion yuan, an expansion of 58.2%.

 

Looking at August alone, China's foreign trade import and export value of 3.71 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.6%. Among them, exports of 2.12 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.8%; imports of 1.59 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.6%; trade surplus of 535.91 billion yuan, an expansion of 40.4%.

 

General Administration of Customs Statistics and Analysis Division Director Li Kuiwen said that this year, in the face of a complex and severe foreign trade development environment, China's efficient coordination of epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, the continued introduction of a series of policies to stabilize foreign trade, to promote foreign trade to achieve stable growth.

 

From the point of view of trade partners, ASEAN continues to maintain China's first largest trading partner status. In the first eight months, China's total trade with ASEAN was 4.09 trillion yuan, an increase of 14%, accounting for 15% of China's total foreign trade; China's total trade with the EU was 3.75 trillion yuan, an increase of 9.5%, accounting for 13.7%; China's total trade with the United States was 3.35 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.1%, accounting for 12.3%; China and South Korea's total trade was 1.6 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.8%, accounting for 5.9%.

 

From the main body of foreign trade, private enterprises continue to play a foreign trade "main force" role. In the first eight months, private enterprises import and export 13.68 trillion yuan, an increase of 14.9%, accounting for 50.1% of the total value of China's foreign trade, an increase of 2.1 percentage points over the same period last year.

 

Data also show that exports of electromechanical products and labor-intensive products are growing. In the first eight months, China's exports of mechanical and electrical products 8.75 trillion yuan, an increase of 9.8%, accounting for 56.5% of total exports; exports of labor-intensive products 2.81 trillion yuan, an increase of 14.1%, accounting for 18.1%.

 

Imports, the first eight months, China's iron ore imports fell in volume and price, crude oil, coal, natural gas and soybeans and other imports of reduced prices.
