Chinese Titanium Dioxide Market Largely Stable This Week (May 11-17, 2018)

Rutile titanium dioxide market prices were largely stable this week. Up to May 17, mainstream negotiation prices were in the range of RMB 15,800-17,800/mt. The average price was RMB 16,700/mt this week, unchanged from last week. Producers’ offers remained stable and most players showed a wait-and-see position. The operating rate in downstream industries was modest. According to rutile titanium dioxide producers, the export market was optimistic.

Anatase Titanium Dioxide market prices remained stable. Up to May 17, mainstream negotiation prices were in the range of RMB 13,200-14,800/mt. The average price was RMB 14,042/mt, unchanged from last week. The operating rate was not high and the supply was stable. The downstream demand was flat, and the overall trading was thin. Some negotiation prices inched down.

Producers’ offers are stable, and producers have no intention to adjust prices. The overall operating rate is modest and supply is stable. Raw materials’ prices continue moving down and the support to Titanium Dioxide market is weak. It is predicted that the Chinese titanium dioxide market will be largely stable.
