Two China's Terminals to Build New Tanks of 640,000 cbm

According to sources, this week two terminals announced to expand their LNG storage tanks with a total newly added capacity at 640,000 cbm. Herein, Guanghui Energy broke the ground of its second 160,000 cbm LNG storage tank in its Qidong Terminal at Lvsi Harbor, Nantong Port in East China’s Jiangsu, while CNOOC announced to invite tenders for EPC Project of the second construction phase of its Ningbo Terminal in Beilun District, Ningbo Port in East China’s Zhejiang, including three new 160,000 cbm LNG storage tanks.
To remind, Guanghui Energy’s first 160,000 cbm LNG tank is still under construction and plans to be put into operation in Q4, 2018. The second 160,000 cbm tank was once planned to break ground in 2019, however, the company recently decided to shift to 2018 so as to increase its storage capacity, which is also appealed by NDRC for the foreseeable shortage in the next winter heating season.
