The Customs further strengthened the inspection and supervision of imported hazardous chemicals

Recently, the General Administration of Customs issued the Notice of the General Administration of Customs on Further Strengthening the Inspection and Supervision of Imported Dangerous Chemicals (Notice No. 9 (2023)). Since April 13, 2023, the reform of the inspection mode of imported dangerous chemicals has been officially implemented nationwide.

 

After the implementation of the announcement, the inspection mode of imported hazardous chemicals will be adjusted to approval of "document verification + port inspection or destination inspection", and the inspection procedures and proportion will be set according to the properties of imported hazardous chemicals and the packaging type of dangerous goods.

 

The Customs reminds that the consignee or agent for the import of hazardous chemicals shall upload the relevant materials required by the General Administration of Customs Announcement No. 129, 2020 Concerning the Inspection and Supervision of Import and Export of Hazardous Chemicals and Their Packaging in accordance with the declaration of goods, accurately declare the destination inspection institutions, and the destination inspection institutions shall try their best to choose the customs where the enterprises are located. In order to implement the destination inspection as soon as possible, and timely deal with the abnormal problems encountered in the inspection process.
