Adama launches Forasteiro in Brazil, a pasture herbicide

2023-06-10

Adama recently launched the herbicide Forasteiro for pasture at the Brazilian Agricultural Fair 2023, a triple combination (2, 4-D + Fluroxypyr + Picloram) in the form of EC.

Forasteiro can control herbaceous and semi-woody plants, such as dovetail, leucosoma and leucosoma, among other weeds. This innovation is unique to the Brazilian market and offers broad spectrum control without the need for barrel mixing. The Adama team expressed that

Forasteiro increases farm productivity by controlling weeds, which in turn increases meat production. In high-quality pastures without weeds, people can also reduce the additional supplement of other nutrients in the feed.

In the face of the challenges posed by pests and weeds, David Cruz, Adama's Regional Marketing Manager, highlights the differences between regions: "We are the number one company in the global active ingredient register, and with our expertise in formulations, we develop exclusive products for the Brazilian market, ensuring the excellence of our solutions. These products are easy to operate and apply and will help improve crop sustainability. Because we understand the dynamics of pests and diseases in different regions of Brazil, we adopt a customized format with the goal of enabling farmers to achieve confident management and optimize its application."

Given the current challenging situation, Adama also presented its complete product portfolio for the control of major pests and diseases and weeds, with a focus on soybean and corn crops." "Bom de Soja" includes Armero, a fungicide used to control major diseases affecting soybean crops; Other established products, such as Apresaand Galil, the former a pre-budding herbicide for hard-to-control weeds, and the latter an insecticide used to control bedbugs.
