Corteva launches its new biocide Viatude™ in the United States (Picoxystrobin + Prothioconazole)

2023-09-02

Corteva recently launched its biocide Viatude™ (Picoxystrobin + Prothioconazole) in the United States to expand its biocide portfolio in the United States.

Viatude Fungicide is an all-in-one premix containing Onmira™ and Picoxystrobin. The product provides a new solution for farmers in the northern soybean producing states of the United States to effectively control  southern sclerotium rot of soybean. Viatude is also labeled for use in rape.

Southern sclerotium rot is one of the most serious diseases facing soybean farmers in the North, causing millions of dollars in lost production each year, according to Corteva’s U.S. fungicide product manager. As a new crop protection tool, Viatude fungicide will provide best-in-class southern sclerotium rot of  soybean disease control and help prevent yield loss and protect profitability. The product's superior protection will keep soybeans vibrant all year round.

Viatude fungicides can be quickly absorbed and transferred into various parts of the entire plant, and four transport properties can quickly surround, penetrate and protect the leaves and stems, thereby strengthening the plant for higher yield potential. In addition, farmers can combine Viatude fungicides with Aproach fungicides in a two-application regimen to strengthen plants throughout the year, as well as other integrated pest management measures to help prevent the development of disease resistance.

The fungicide received federal regulatory approval. In addition, the product has also been approved by several major soybean producing states in the north. In 2023, Viatude fungicide will be available in limited quantities to farmers in soybean producing areas in the northern United States, with additional supplies expected in these areas in 2024.
