Certis Belchim launches the insecticide/acaricide Neudosan
Certis Belchim has announced the launch of Neudosan, a new natural, broad-spectrum insecticide/acaricide, in Europe. This product contains a variety of potassium salts/fatty acid compounds (C7-C18) extracted from rapeseed with multiple effects and is suitable for ornamental crops as well as many crops grown on open and protected lands.
Neudosan is a contact agent with no inhalation or conduction effects. Its mechanism of action is to affect the skin cell structure or exoskeleton of pests and spider mites at various stages of development from eggs to adults, damage respiratory organs, hinder oxygen absorption, resulting in the death of pests in a short period of time, and the initial results can be shown within a few hours.
The product produces a broad and rapid effect on stinging insects such as thrips, aphids, mealybugs, scale insects, whiteflies, spider mites and pear woodworms at any stage of development, and pests and spider mites do not develop resistance to Neudosan, and biological control agents and pollinators are largely unaffected. Neudosan is therefore suitable for integrated pest control programmes and can play a key role in resistance management as both an essential and an alternative agent.
Neudosan is a water-soluble liquid that remains stable and transparent over a wide range of temperatures, distinguishing it from other agents with similar effects but different formulations, which become cloudy and layered at low temperatures. In addition, the product reduces the surface tension of the spray solution, thus acting like a super wetting agent, which eliminates the need for special (super) wetting agents when mixed with other agents. According to Certis Belchim, it is a user-friendly product with few restrictions and can be used straight away.
Neudosan can be used in combination with most plant protection products, except those containing aFosetyl-aluminum, sulphur and metal ions (such as zinc, copper and iron), and cannot be applied with pH sensitive chemicals and foliate fertilizers.
Neudosan has been available for some time in countries surrounding the Netherlands, but is not yet licensed in the Netherlands. Given the dwindling number of currently licensed insecticides/acaricides and the often limited scope of use of available resources, Neudosan is an essential complement.
