Quadpack Enhances Iconic Woodacity 2.0 Refillable Lipstick with Innovative Closure System
Quadpack has elevated its Iconic Woodacity 2.0 refillable lipstick format by introducing a novel patented closure system known as Solo Snap, encased in a custom monomaterial wooden exterior.
This updated version boasts Aptar Beauty's POM-free, glue-free, and lubricant-free Iconic lipstick mechanism, renowned for its seamless bullet actuation. Users can effortlessly replace used mechanisms by simply removing and snapping in a new one.
The wooden casing is crafted from 100% European-sourced ash or maple wood obtained from sustainably-managed forests. On-demand availability of PEFC and FSC certifications is provided.
Quadpack underscores the flexibility of the monomaterial wood, allowing it to be adorned with a wide range of designs and decorative techniques.
The Solo Snap system is engineered for user-friendly convenience, offering a click closure through an internal structure that operates sans inserts or plastic. Quadpack explains, "Consumers simply pull the cap off and push it back on until it clicks."
What's noteworthy is that the updated Iconic Woodacity 2.0 seamlessly integrates with standard filling lines.
Aptar Beauty manufactures the mechanisms at its Chavanod facility in France, while Quadpack Wood in Catalonia, Spain, is responsible for the production of the monomaterial wood casing.
Denisa Stircea, Senior Category Lead at Quadpack, elaborates, "Wood is all about emotions. Ash is a light-colored wood with a straight grain. Maple can be very smooth and shiny. Decoration can either highlight the unique grain patterns or give the product a premium look and feel—in that sense, it can also cater to brands seeking sustainable packaging without sacrificing wood's natural aesthetics."
Patrick Bousquel, Marketing Director of Beauty EMEA at Aptar Beauty, underscores the suitability of the opening experience for this lipstick while preserving the product's monomaterial and refillable attributes.
