L’Oréal took center stage at the China International Import Expo (CIIE), showcasing a remarkable array of 18 beauty tech innovations and collaborations. As the largest exhibitor in the consumer goods sector at CIIE, L’Oréal presented a range of offerings, including diagnostic and coaching tools, sustainable solutions, and personalized beauty tech innovations.

Key Highlights:


1. New-to-Asia Beauty Tech Offerings:


- AI-powered scalp and hair smart camera: Kérastase K-SCAN


- Handheld skin health diagnostic device: Giorgio Armani Meta ProfilerTM


- Smart eyebrow makeup applicator: Shu Uemura 3D shu:brow


- Inclusive smart makeup device: HAPTA


2. Partnerships and Collaborations:


- CeraVe announced partnerships with Sanofi's Dupixent and Novartis' Cosentyx for atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.


- L'Oréal China launched the first-ever cosmetics application guide using two-dimensional barcodes in collaboration with the China Association for Bar Code Technology and Application.


3. CIIE Debut and Launches:


- Luxury brand Aēsop made its debut at CIIE.

 

- La Roche-Posay launched its new REPAIRING REGENERATIVE series.


4. L’Oréal North Asia Big Bang Beauty Tech Innovation Program:

 

- L’Oréal unveiled the 2023 winners of the Big Bang program, which focuses on driving open innovation and co-creation of innovative beauty solutions in North Asia.

- The winners include 11 companies from China, three from Japan, two from Korea, and one from France.


Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L’Oréal Groupe, expressed enthusiasm for presenting their latest Beauty Tech innovations at CIIE, emphasizing China's significance as their second-largest market. He highlighted the power of open innovation and co-creation with startups and SMEs worldwide.


Fabrice Megarbane, President of L'Oréal North Asia Zone & CEO of L'Oréal China, emphasized the company's commitment to diversity and inclusivity in beauty. The theme for CIIE 2023, "beauty for all, beauty for each," aligns with L’Oréal's vision of shaping the future of beauty through diverse Beauty Tech solutions and open innovation.


L’Oréal has also confirmed its participation in the next CIIE, where it will continue its role as chair of the Special Committee of Daily Chemical Consumer Goods, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic relations.
