Sudarshan Chemical Has Achieved Financial Growth with Its Pigments Division and Has Become a Potential Investment Target
The financial data released by India's Sudarshan Chemical Industries on November 9 showed that the performance of its pigment division has soared. Although operating profit margin (OPM) fell 51 basis points to 11.3%, the company's current total revenue in 2023 reached ₹601 crore, up 3% year-on-year.
The pigments division has become the main growth driver of Sudarshan Chemical, with an annual growth rate of 10%. The main reason is that its domestic revenue has increased significantly, reaching ₹272 crore; while export revenue has also increased slightly by 3%.
However, some financial performance was lower than expected. Sudarshan Chemical's profit after tax (PAT) was ₹18 crore rupees, 11% lower than expected profit. However, Sudarshan Chemical's overall financial progress indicates that the company is doing well both operationally and in the market.
Investment analysis company InvestingPro believes that "the surge in performance of Sudarshan's chemical pigments division has brought strong earnings. Its maintenance of dividend payments for 29 consecutive years proves its financial flexibility. The high gross profit margin and high return on assets further confirm the company's potential for financial development and sustained growth."
Last month, BASF's European distribution arm BTC Europe signed an agreement with Sudarshan Chemical for the distribution of organic and inorganic pigments and effect pigments in Europe. Leveraging BTC Europe's strong position in the European chemical distribution market, Sudarshan Chemical will provide BASF with high-performance pigments covering a variety of fields and applications. The two parties stated that they will cooperate to expand the third-party product portfolio and continuously enhance their competitive advantages in the pigment market.
