Groundbreaking Innovations Take Center Stage at in-cosmetics Asia 2023 Awards Gala
In a dazzling ceremony held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC), in-cosmetics Asia unveiled the victors of its prestigious annual awards, spotlighting the cutting-edge strides in the world of cosmetics and personal care.

These accolades, a tribute to the unyielding pursuit of excellence and ingenuity in the cosmetic and personal care sector, spotlight outstanding ingredient innovations from pioneering leaders in the industry.
As the preeminent gathering for the cosmetic and personal care community in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC), the discerning judging panel recognized excellence in the Innovation Zone Best Active Ingredient, Innovation Zone Best Functional Ingredient, and the Spotlight On Awards.
Innovation Zone: Active Ingredient Award
Lucas Meyer Cosmetics' Immunight™ clinched the coveted Gold Active Ingredient Award for its revolutionary green-processed oil-soluble lavandin extract. Meticulously crafted to counteract the effects of poor-quality sleep on the skin, Immunight™ enhances nighttime skin recovery and improves sleep quality through the inhalation of olfactory compounds.
CODIF secured the Silver Award for REGETASTE, an anti-aging epidermal ingredient lauded for enhancing skin texture and brightness. Meanwhile, RAHN AG received the Bronze Award for PERFELINE®, a water-based extraction boasting Helichrysum italicum syn angustifolium, chlorogenic acid, and di-O-caffeoylquinic acids to fortify micro-vessels in human skin.
Innovation Zone: Functional Ingredient Award
Gattefossé claimed the Gold Award in the Functional Ingredient category with Emulium Dermolea MB, a plant-based O/W emulsifier enriched with sterols and triterpenes for long-term soothing and stress reduction. SOFTISAN® MagicPOWDER S by IOI Oleo earned the Silver Award, offering a cold-processable transforming ingredient for convenient powder-to-emulsion formulations on the go. Elementis secured the Bronze Award with BENTONE® PLUS GLOW, combining natural ingredients to impart rheological control and suspension to cosmetics and skin care products while promoting the skin’s barrier function.
Spotlight On Formulation Award
The Spotlight On Formulation Award shone a light on exceptional accomplishments in the Sustainable, Conscious Beauty, and Love is in the Hair (Haircare) categories.
In Sustainable, Conscious Beauty, Soho Aneco Chemicals (China) claimed the Bronze Award for BioSyn-Bisabolol, while Nippon Fine Chemical (Japan) took home the Silver Award for Lotion with Neosolue™-Aqulio. The Gold Award went to Taiwanese BIO-NEST Biochemical Technology for SunCat JCW03, recognized for its innovative 5% UV Filters with SPF30 and advanced technology.
The "Love is in the Hair" category witnessed a tie, with Ichimaru Pharcos (Japan) winning Gold for BURGEON-UP(HS), a product celebrated for its dual function against hair loss and greying. Azelis secured another Gold for its Detox Scalp Butter Mask, praised for its trendy, easy-to-use multifunctional formula.
This year's awards brought together a panel of seasoned experts and professionals, including Dr. Awanthi De Silva, Dr. Jaesung Hwang, Dr. Junho Choi, Dr. Kilala Tilaar, Dr. Oliver Hofmann, Faiza Hussain, John Jimenez, Merve Samur, Mike Sohn, Muriel Pujos, Ranelle Anderson, Stacey Fraser, and Yvette Ishac, representing diverse expertise in the field.
