Lummus Technology Acquires Air Liquide Engineering & Construction Acrylics and Acrylates Technology
Recently, Lummus Technology, a global provider of chemical process technology and value-driven energy solutions, announced that it has reached an agreement with Air Liquide Engineering & Construction to acquire its ester-grade acrylic technology and licensing and marketing rights for light and heavy acrylate process technology. The move expands Lummus' propylene production and derivatives portfolio, providing customers with more choices between upstream and downstream operations.
After the completion of this acquisition, Lummus' propylene downstream industry chain will be enriched, and it will also provide an advanced integrated solution platform for the production of acrylics and acrylates.
Leon de Bruyn, President and CEO of Lummus Technologies, said: "The addition of acrylics and acrylates technology to our portfolio enables Lummus to offer customers a full range of solutions, from propane, natural gas or biomass to high-value polymers and chemicals, serving consumer and industrial products. And, we can now integrate these technologies into the full chemical value chain, drive more optimized CAPEX and OPEX solutions, and shift to recycled polymer products to help customers achieve their investment and sustainability goals."
