A variety of cosmetic ingredients increase in price
It is reported that this round of cosmetic ingredients rose, and the recent oil prices continue to rise in close relationship. Data show that since January this year, oil prices have continued to rise, WTI crude oil futures from the end of January 52.1 U.S. dollars / barrel, up to the current 61.23 U.S. dollars / barrel, up nearly 20% in less than a month. At the same time, major institutions are now bullish on the crude oil market, Morgan Stanley said the global crude oil market may enter at least the tightest supply of oil since 2000 a quarter.
As we all know, oil is the basic raw material of all chemical industries, oil prices on the rise, will eventually conduct to the whole chemical industry chain. According to monitoring, February 9 to February 20, there have been 54 kinds of chemical raw materials price increases, of which, DBP, octanol, n-Butanol, DOP, Butyl Acetate, DOTP, BDO, isobutanol, Butyl Acrylate, phthalic anhydride and other raw materials increased by more than 20%.
Currently, a number of chemical plants such as BASF, Westlake Chemical Company, Formosa Plastics America and INVISTA announced in mid-February that a number of their plants suffered from force majeure factors, resulting in production shutdown. In addition, plants such as Wanhua Chemical announced a maintenance period.
Chemical raw material price growth has also affected the cosmetic-related raw materials, it is understood that the entire chemical raw material prices, a number of cosmetic raw material prices rose in response to the impact of the general increase.
At present, almost all petrochemical-related cosmetic raw materials have seen different price increases, for example, surfactants AES, dipropylene glycol, propylene glycol, various types of dimethyl silicone oil, etc. In addition, Wang Yong, general manager of Lisch (Shanghai) Cosmetics Co., Ltd. also said that the prices of styrene, isobutanol, acrylics, and pentanediol have also gone up.
It is worth noting that not only the prices of cosmetic raw materials in general have risen, but also the prices of cosmetic paper packaging boxes have ushered in a second wave of price increases this year due to the continued rise in the price of raw paper and other materials.
