Dow plans to establish a manufacturing base for specialty chemicals in South China
On March 2, Dow signed a memorandum with the Management Committee of Zhanjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone, planning to establish a South China specialty chemical manufacturing base for Dow to provide customers with high value-added products and innovative technologies produced locally by Dow.
According to the memorandum, Dow will invest about 250 million U.S. dollars to build special polyurethane and special surfactant devices, with a total production capacity of about 250,000 tons. The planned South China manufacturing base will effectively improve Dow’s local production capacity, further improve supply reliability, accelerate market demand response, and strengthen customized innovation to help customers in automotive, pharmaceutical, cleaning, clothing, lubricants, and adhesives Wait for the market to succeed. The base also reserves space for future growth and development.

Ling Xianghui, Vice President of Dow’s Asia Pacific Manufacturing Operations Department, pointed out: “The South China manufacturing base will be planned and constructed in accordance with Dow’s world advanced environmental, health and safety standards, and will implement Dow’s latest sustainability goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Development commitment. The base will adopt advanced digital, intelligent, and automated technologies to create a world-class safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally sustainable manufacturing base."
Dow's South China Specialty Chemical Manufacturing Base will be located in Donghai Island, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. It has many advantageous resources, including a deep-water port and a well-developed transportation network. It is a world-class petrochemical park with advanced infrastructure and services. At the same time, the strategic location of the park will help Dow's new manufacturing base radiate the entire Asia-Pacific region and meet customer needs.
