Syngenta introduces Joiner(Isocycloseram), an insecticide and acaricide, for coffee and horticultural pest control
Recently, Syngenta disclosed that it launched Joiner insecticidal acaricide, the active ingredient is Plinazolin (Isocycloseram), mainly used to control the main pests affecting coffee, a variety of vegetables, green plants and fruit crops, Joiner's key characteristics are its high-performance control effect, fast onset and long control cycle.
Joiner was developed to provide innovative control measures for coffee growers, with multiple features that work together to provide unprecedented benefits, such as rapid pest feeding stop and longer expiration date, which can ensure higher quality and profitability for coffee plantations.
Brazil, the world's largest coffee producer, is facing numerous threats to its productivity. Joiner is recommended for the control of two pests, coffee longicorn beetles and coffee sawfly, and two mites, red spider mite and sleeve snake mite, which are the most influential pests on coffee. According to Syngenta's pesticide Product and Innovation Marketing Manager, Joiner is poised to revolutionize coffee pest control, achieving a new level of control for coffee beetles, as well as superior control for coffee sawfly and mites, with a broader spectrum of action.
In addition to coffee, this product is extremely flexible and recommended for a variety of horticultural crops such as squash, zucchini, garlic, eggplant, potatoes, onions, bergamot, citrus, eggplant, melons, cucumbers, red peppers, peppers, okra and tomatoes. Joiner offers unprecedented control of major horticultural pests, even hard-to-control pests, bringing more convenience to producers' daily activities.
Isocycloseram is a new insecticide developed by Syngenta, which has the same mechanism of action as the Diamide insecticide Broflanilide. In 2021, Isocycloseram will be available. Syngenta plans to expand it to more than 40 countries and regions around the world, applied to more than 40 crops, and its annual peak sales are expected to exceed $500 million. According to Syngenta, Isocycloseram will set a new benchmark for pest control, especially for pests that cannot be effectively controlled by existing products. It provides an effective solution for resistance management strategies, replacing traditional chemical agents with unsatisfactory results.
