Evonik's Essen Goldschmidt Plant Receives ISCC PLUS Certification for Specialty Chemicals Production
Evonik's Essen Goldschmidt plant has received the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS for its specialty chemicals production. The certification is based on a mass balance approach that ensures sustainable raw materials are used and the supply chain is traceable.
Following Evonik's plants in Marl and Hern, Germany, and its plant in Mobile, Alabama, USA, the Essen Goldschmidt plant has also received certification for a sustainable and fully traceable supply chain.
Moving away from fossil raw materials is part of Innovative Generation Solutions' sustainability strategy, which focuses on product portfolio, innovative management, production and technology.
Claudine Mollenkopf, head of Evonik's Specialty Additives Division, said that as an innovation leader in the professional market, Evonik strives to provide excellent product performance and sustainable development leadership. Thanks to the company's ISCC PLUS certification for the production of specialty chemicals such as surfactants at its Goldschmidt plant in Essen, products ranging from coatings and inks to adhesives, polyurethane foams and personal care products, customers will have access to a wider range of certified additives with a higher proportion of renewable raw materials.
