Suzlon Secures 642 MW of New Orders from Evren
Suzlon Group, India's largest renewable energy solutions provider, today announced that it has won an order from Evren company ABC Cleantech Private Limited (ACPL) to supply wind turbines for a 642 MW wind power project. Evren is a joint venture in India between Brookfield and Axis Energy. Suzlon Group will install 214 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with hybrid lattice tube (HLT) towers, each with a rated capacity of 3 MW, in Andhra Pradesh.
The order applies to the larger rated 3 MW, S144-140m turbine in the company's 3 MW product range. As part of the agreement, Suzlon will supply the wind turbines and undertake the installation and commissioning of the project, also undertake comprehensive operation and maintenance services after commissioning.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, said: "It is exciting to start the new year with this significant order announced by Evren. Suzlon is committed to working with Evren to enhance its green energy portfolio while helping to advance India's renewable energy goals."
JP Chalasani, CEO of Suzlon Group, said: "We are delighted to announce our first order with Evren. Suzlon's comprehensive and proven product portfolio tailored to Indian wind conditions will help achieve our national development goals, increasing India's renewable energy production capacity and enhancing renewable energy power generation capacity. "
"Last year we saw an increase in orders from well-known multinational companies, which is a testament to our world-class technology and service capabilities. Andhra Pradesh is a key state for us to unlock India's true wind energy potential and we are delighted that the electricity generated by this project in Andhra Pradesh will provide clean, green, renewable electricity to millions of homes in India. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with Evren. " added JP Chalasani.
Suman Kumar, CEO of Evren, said: "We are delighted to be working with Suzlon Energy on this project. We look forward to leveraging our expertise and operational capabilities, developing and operating a high-quality clean energy portfolio in India over the next few years. "
Suzlon's turbines utilize time-tested doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) technology, which effectively integrates wind turbines into utility networks to meet grid requirements. Its research and development efforts are continually focused on improving turbine performance, harnessing more energy from low-wind areas and reducing energy costs.
