Qyuns Therapeutics Makes Groundbreaking Debut on Hong Kong Stock Exchange as the First 'Self-Immunity Pioneer'

ECHEMI 2024-03-20

In a significant milestone for the healthcare industry, Qyuns Therapeutics, commonly known as the "Self-Immunity Pioneer," commenced trading on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange today. The company's focus on innovative biologic therapies for self-immune and allergic diseases has propelled it to the forefront of the Chinese pharmaceutical landscape. With a strategic emphasis on dermatology, rheumatology, respiratory, and gastrointestinal disorders, Qyuns Therapeutics has established itself as a leader in the field.

Breaking Ground in the Self-Immunity Arena:

Founded in 2015, Qyuns Therapeutics has emerged as one of the few Chinese pharmaceutical companies dedicated solely to the development of novel therapies in the self-immunity and allergy domains. Leveraging its comprehensive research capabilities, the company has successfully developed two core products, QX002N and QX005N, along with a robust pipeline of seven other candidates. This pipeline encompasses a range of indications, including silvery brow disease, atopic dermatitis, ankylosing spondylitis, systemic lupus erythematosus, asthma, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Pioneering Products and Clinical Advancements:

Qyuns Therapeutics's QX001S, an IL-12/IL-23p40 inhibitor for the treatment of psoriasis, represents the first domestically produced biosimilar of ustekinumab to undergo BLA submission in China. Moreover, QX002N, an IL-17A inhibitor currently in Phase III clinical trials, has demonstrated promising efficacy in managing ankylosing spondylitis. Additionally, QX005N, a monoclonal antibody targeting IL-4Rα, is among the most advanced biologic candidates for atopic dermatitis in China and holds the distinction of being the first candidate for nodular prurigo clinical trials.

Clinical Progress and Regulatory Approval:

Qyuns Therapeutics has obtained IND approvals for seven indications of QX005N, including adult atopic dermatitis, adolescent atopic dermatitis, nodular prurigo, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, chronic spontaneous urticaria, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The company has also received IND approval for QX002N, which exhibits significant therapeutic potential for ankylosing spondylitis and lupus nephritis. With the successful completion of Phase II trials and positive feedback from the National Medical Products Administration, QX002N initiated Phase III clinical trials in September 2023, with an anticipated completion date in the latter half of 2025.

Qyuns Therapeutics's debut on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange marks a significant achievement for the company and the broader field of self-immunity therapeutics. By focusing on innovative biologic therapies and pioneering advancements in the treatment of self-immune and allergic diseases, Qyuns Therapeutics has positioned itself as a trailblazer in China's pharmaceutical landscape. With a robust product pipeline and a commitment to addressing unmet medical needs, Qyuns Therapeutics is poised to make a lasting impact on patients' lives and contribute to the advancement of medical science.
