Brenntag acquires specialty chemicals distributor Lawrence Industries
Brenntag announces acquisition of Lawrence Industries. The acquisition further strengthens the company's position in materials science and various industries, including the coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers (CASE), construction, polymers and rubber industries.
This has accumulated an extensive ecosystem of top supply partners and a high-quality product portfolio. It most powerfully drives market demand for formulation solutions and a leading sustainability footprint.
Brenntag is a chemicals and ingredients distributor. Brenntag Specialties aims to expand its materials science business through strategic acquisitions. Lawrence Industries will complement this strategy by significantly expanding its presence in the UK and Ireland and expanding its expertise and supplier portfolio in value-added services.
"The acquisition of Lawrence Industries will further strengthen our specialty product offering in the UK and Ireland and is fully consistent with our strategy in materials science. Lawrence Industries has established an industry-leading reputation," said Lars Schneider, global president of Brenntag Specialties Material Science.
"I am deeply impressed by Lawrence Industries and its highly capable and talented team, long-established regional presence, strong specialty product portfolio and experienced technology setup. I look forward to further expanding our technology and value-added services to our top suppliers and valued customers, with a special focus on innovative and sustainable solutions that leverage each other's capabilities," added Schneider.
Lawrence Industries is a technology-driven, independent specialty chemicals distribution company. It is headquartered in Tamworth, Staffordshire. The company serves a diverse range of markets in the UK and Ireland, including high-quality additives, minerals and catalysts, with the business generating sales of approximately £30 million by 2023.
"We are delighted to join the Brenntag family," said Charles Henn-Allen, Managing Director of Lawrence Industries. "Gaining an international presence is an important next step for us as a UK specialty chemicals distributor. In addition, with access to Brenntag's extensive network of innovation and application centers, our current and future customers will be able to benefit from best-in-class value-added services."
