FMC and Optibrium use AI to accelerate innovation in crop protection technology

2024-05-16

FMC has announced a partnership with Optibrium, a leading developer of drug discovery software and artificial intelligence solutions. This strategic alliance marks an important step in the field of crop protection research and aims to accelerate the discovery and commercialization of new crop protection technologies by integrating advanced AI technologies.

Through the partnership, FMC will use Optibrium's Cerella™ and StarDrop™ technologies for internal research and development. Cerella™ is a deep learning-based artificial intelligence platform that improves return on R&D investment by enhancing molecular discovery for more accurate predictions and better experimental prioritization. StarDrop™ further complements the capabilities of Cerella™ through small molecule design and optimization, and integrates with Cerella™ to improve data analysis in the discovery process using AI.

In order to meet the global food security challenge, innovative approaches must be adopted to accelerate the research and development process. This collaboration with Optibrium is part of the company's strategic plan to leverage Optibrium's enhanced chemical AI technology to expand the company's discovery process. Through machine learning and artificial intelligence, FMC expects to be able to quickly identify promising compounds, optimize their properties, and continue to drive sustainable product development.

Optibrium's CEO is excited about the partnership and believes that the company's powerful AI and software platform will support FMC, a global leader in crop protection, and enhance its discovery capabilities. Optibrium and FMC share a common vision to revolutionize the discovery process through innovative scientific solutions that have a positive impact on crop protection.

Founded in 2009, Optibrium is headquartered in Cambridge, England, and its U.S. subsidiary, Optibrium Inc. Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The company is focused on developing superior software and artificial intelligence solutions to help scientists advance their projects. Optibrium's products are based on rigorous scientific research and provide intuitive software for compound design, optimization and data analysis.
