BOOTS online doctor launches 24-hour skin condition diagnosis and new treatment service
Boots Online Doctor has launched a new skin condition diagnostic service that provides patients with clinical assessments of common skin problems within 24 hours. In addition, the service now includes skin aging and hyperpigmentation treatments, providing expert advice and prescription treatments for skin concerns such as fine lines, texture and acne scars.
As part of its commitment to accessible dermatology care, Boots Online Doctor’s new skin condition diagnostic service allows patients to submit photos of their skin problems for expert review for a fee of £25 per assessment. Patients complete a questionnaire, upload photos using the new Boots photo diagnostic scanner and receive a diagnosis and advice from a clinician within 24 hours. Those diagnosed can get further treatment options or see their GP.
The services have been developed by Dr Susie Gawler, clinical director of acne and skin at Boots Online Doctor. Boots is also enhancing its in-store skincare expertise by providing dermatology training to more than 4,000 pharmacists and providing additional skincare training to 1,200 beauty and wellness specialists.
Boots has also launched a new Skin Hub on boots.com, offering free advice and educational content on a range of skin types and conditions. Boots currently has more than 500 beauty brands, including new brands such as Bubble, 47 Skin, Coats Skincare and Dermalogica Clear Start.
With over 70% of the UK population affected by a visible skin condition or scar, and with a 68% increase in patients seeking dermatology advice through Boots Online Doctor, these new services meet the growing demand for convenient, professional skincare solutions. By providing rapid diagnosis and expanded educational resources, Boots aims to support customers in managing skin health effectively and cost-effectively.
