According to the commodity market analysis system monitoring: At the beginning of the week, the price of activated carbon in China was 12,883 CNY/ton, and by the end of the week, it had risen to 12,933 CNY/ton, an increase of 0.39%.

Chinese coconut shell activated carbon prices from manufacturers increased this week. The factory price for coconut shell water purification activated carbon in East China is between 9,500 and 13,000 CNY per ton. For columnar coal-based activated carbon with an iodine value of around 1,000, the price is between 8,200 and 9,500 CNY per ton. Since coconut shell carbonized material was classified as a hazardous substance under new regulations in January, the import of raw materials has been significantly affected, leading to a substantial decrease in supply. Coconut shell carbon enterprises in various production areas in China have been greatly impacted by the shortage of raw materials, affecting their production.

Southeast Asian countries that are major producers of coconuts have been affected by natural disasters and policy adjustments, leading to a shortage in the supply of coconut shell charcoal, which has caused an increase in the price of coconut shell charcoal. Coconut shell activated carbon is in high demand for water treatment, air purification, and sodium-ion batteries. Additionally, the extended shipping cycle, increased storage requirements, and higher environmental standards have raised import costs, providing support for the price increase.

Prediction: Due to the tight supply of coconut shell activated carbon raw materials in China and increased costs, it is expected that the price of activated carbon will mainly follow a high-level fluctuation trend in the short term.
