Italy's Sodalis Group acquires majority stake in Artdeco Group
The Italian health, beauty and personal care group has acquired a majority stake in the German family-owned Artdeco Cosmetics Group, which operates the Artdeco, Make up Factory and Anny brands.
Artdeco is the undisputed leader in the German boutique cosmetics market, with a strong consumer recognition and loyalty with its "affordable luxury" positioning. Make up Factory offers a wide range of professional makeup products, and Anny has become a well-known nail brand in the selected market.
Founded in 1985 and headquartered outside Munich, the Artdeco Group has 680 employees and has a dedicated production site for product assembly in Karlsfeld and a logistics warehouse in Bergkirchen, the Munich metropolitan area.
With this transaction, the Sodalis Group strengthens its presence in Germany, where it is already active through its subsidiary Lornamead.
"This acquisition allows us to grow in Germany, one of the largest beauty markets in Europe, with a truly outstanding and well-performing company that is highly recognized for its long tradition and best-in-class capabilities in the cosmetics industry," said Fabio Granata, CEO of Sodalis.
"I have built the Artdeco Group over the past 39 years into a German market leader with a strong international presence. We are delighted to have found a strong partner like Sodalis to further accelerate our growth and facilitate the continued international development of our brands," added Helmut Baurecht, CEO of the Artdeco Group.
