Axalta Completes Acquisition of CoverFlexx Group
Axalta Coating Systems has completed its previously announced acquisition of CoverFlexx Group from Transtar Holding Company. CoverFlexx Group manufactures and markets automotive refinish and aftermarket coatings, primarily for economy customers in North America.
“The acquisition of CoverFlexx Group further strengthens our exceptional offering in refinish coatings,” said Chris Villavarayan, Axalta CEO and president. “As we outlined at our recent Strategy Day, investing in growth in the refinish business is a top priority for Axalta, and this acquisition will advance that priority.”
Troy Weaver, president of Axalta Global Refinish, added, “We are excited to formally welcome our new team members to Axalta. We will work to make the integration as smooth as possible while continuing to deliver on our commitments. I look forward to our work together to grow the refinish business.”
CoverFlexx Group offers a broad range of primers, basecoats and clearcoats, as well as aerosols, fillers, bed liners, detailing products and paint shop accessories. Well-known brands include Transtar Autobody Technologies, Pro-Form and Aftermkt Armor products. CoverFlexx Group has manufacturing and product development facilities in Brighton, Michigan and Milton, Ontario.
