Axalta launches Zenamel™ wood coating for cabinets
The unique formula of the Zenamel™ range is based on cutting-edge coating technology that saves significant time during the application process and provides unparalleled surface protection and aesthetics.
Comprised of two distinct product lines, Zenamel™ SP and Zenamel™ T, the range received critical acclaim upon launch, with both products winning the prestigious Edison Award. The Edison Awards recognize outstanding examples of innovation and are one of the most respected awards in new product design.
Zenamel™ SP is designed to consolidate traditional three-coat finishing systems into a single coat for superior performance and aesthetics. It is the only coating of its kind that offers the filling properties of a primer with the moisture and chemical resistance of an enamel without the need for a clear coat. By reducing the number of coatings applied, Zenamel™ SP increases productivity, increases process throughput and reduces the number of stock keeping units (SKUs) required.
Zenamel™ T is designed for increased processing efficiency and superior aesthetics. Only one coat of primer and enamel is required compared to standard four-coat competing solutions. Zenamel™ T is optimized to eliminate the need for two separate products for horizontal and vertical applications, saving costs and simplifying the manufacturing process.
Wade Arnold, vice president and general manager, Axalta Building Products said: "Our commitment to developing innovative wood coating solutions is at the heart of everything we do. As a result of our investments in new technologies like the Zenamel™ range, OEMs can now reap major benefits in the form of operational efficiency and superior performance, as evidenced by our success at the Edison Awards."
