Oriental Yuhong's new production, R&D and logistics base in Houston breaks ground
Recently, the groundbreaking ceremony for Oriental Yuhong's new production, R&D and logistics base in Houston was held in Prairie View, Texas, USA.
Nearly 100 government officials, partners and community representatives from Prairie View, Prairie View A&M University, Small Business Development Center, LyondellBasell Industries, ExxonMobil, KraussMaffei, BASF, Powers Brown Architecture and other companies attended the event to witness this milestone moment.
The new production, R&D and logistics base project in Houston is located in the Prairie View Industrial Park. The first phase of the project includes the construction of a thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) waterproofing membrane production line and a North American R&D center. It is expected to be completed in 2025 and create about 100 jobs locally.
The second phase of the project will focus on the construction of production lines and plants for insulation materials, sand powder, pipelines, etc. to expand production capacity and business scope. After the project is completed and put into production, Oriental Yuhong will further focus on the production and manufacturing of waterproof materials and mortar powder, explore the expansion of sales channels, and work with partners to create a new chapter of win-win cooperation.
Liu Bin, Vice Chairman of Oriental Yuhong, emphasized that the company chose to build a new base in Houston, valuing Houston's strong industrial foundation, superior geographical location and open investment environment, which is also an important measure for Oriental Yuhong to promote globalization. With the continuous deepening of the globalization strategy, Oriental Yuhong will continue to strengthen value shaping, continuously improve the level of scientific research and technology, actively explore high-quality and global development paths, and do its best to provide greater service value and better service experience for customers in North America and even around the world.
Li Jianjun, General Manager of Oriental Yuhong North America Branch, said: "TPO is one of the most widely used waterproof roofing materials in the field of industrial and commercial construction, and its importance is self-evident. In recent years, the strong demand for building materials in North America and even the world has provided a broad market space and considerable growth opportunities for the application and development of TPO. Therefore, we are very optimistic about this project and are full of confidence. The new base is not only the first industrial park built by Oriental Yuhong in North America, but also the beginning of the company's new journey of globalization. In the future, we will continue to increase our efforts, refine our layout, and achieve more stable and sustainable development goals."
Greg Zenner, Polymer Business Manager of LyondellBasell Industrial Holdings Co., Ltd., said that LyondellBasell Industrial Holdings Co., Ltd. and Oriental Yuhong have a deep cooperation foundation and broad cooperation space. It is hoped that the two sides can take this opportunity to expand the international market together based on the successful cooperation results and experience, and achieve complementary advantages and mutual benefit and win-win results.
