Qemtex opens powder coatings plant in UAE, targets global markets
Qemtex Chemical Holding announced the launch of its new powder coatings plant in the UAE. Located in the Umm Al Quwain Free Zone, the plant produces a variety of products, including architectural, industrial and professional powder coatings. The production capacity expansion will be implemented in two phases, with an initial output of 5,000 tons per year, which will be increased to 10,000 tons per year in the second phase. Qemtex plans to allocate at least 30% of its production to the UAE domestic market, and the remaining 70% will be exported to the GCC, MENA, EU and US markets.
"We have assembled a strong team of international experts from more than a dozen countries with up to 30 years of industry experience. This allows us to develop innovative, environmentally friendly solutions for customers from all over the world," said Alexandr Glukhov, Group CEO.
The company invested $16 million in the production facility and a state-of-the-art R&D center, aiming to establish the center as one of the top three powder coating research institutions in the region.
Experts estimate that the global powder coatings market will grow by 5.5% annually until 2029, creating favorable conditions for the company’s ambitious plans. “With the growing demand for powder coatings around the world, our new plant in the UAE is just the first step in Qemtex’s international strategic development plan to become one of the top ten producers in the world,” noted Zhandos Temirgali, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
