Dow Mitsui Polychemicals starts selling biomass EVA and biomass LDPE

ECHEMI 2024-09-09

Dow Mitsui Polychemicals has started selling biomass ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) and biomass low-density polyethylene (LDPE) based on the mass balance method from September 1, 2024.

Biomass EVA and biomass LDPE have the same resin properties as conventional petroleum-derived products because the raw material biomass ethylene has the same physical properties as conventional petroleum-derived ethylene. Therefore, they can be easily replaced from conventional products while contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions throughout the product life cycle.

"Since obtaining ISCC PLUS certification at the Chiba Plant (Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture) in May 2024, we have been preparing to start production and sales of biomass EVA and biomass LDPE products," the company said in a statement.
