EPA Revises Pesticide Residue Standards, New Regulations in 2024 May Impact the Health of Millions of Infants!
According to the latest news from the Federal Register, on September 9, 2024, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officially issued Regulation 2024-20256, which relates to the revision of the residue limit standard for a pesticide called Saflufenacil in mint and fruit crops. This revision is based on EPA's comprehensive risk assessment of the toxicity, dietary exposure, and potential effects on infants and young children. After extensive research and analysis, EPA has concluded that the proposed new residue limits are safe and sound. The specific revisions are as follows:
