Solvay and MCassab launch solvent applications for pet care market
Solvay and MCassab announce the launch of oxygenated solvents Augeo® Clean Multi and Hexylene Glycol for the Brazilian pet care market. This move is the result of a collaboration between the two companies to promote innovation in this sector. The new application was developed to optimize the effectiveness of formulations and meet the needs of this fast-growing market segment in Brazil.
Augeo Clean Multi, made from glycerol, is an excellent alternative to petrochemical solvents and is particularly suitable for perfume and cologne formulations, enhancing the scent and ensuring long-lasting fragrance, while being non-toxic. Hexylene Glycol is ideal for applications such as shampoos and paw cleaners, with high wetting power to improve the hydration of pet skin and effectively remove dirt.
Both products also feature low odor, accelerated biodegradability and high compatibility with formulations, meeting the growing needs of the pet care industry, which is challenged by increasingly discerning consumers seeking effective solutions to meet their pet care needs.
“We are very excited about this collaboration, which fulfills our goal of getting closer to the pet care industry. These two solvents are already consolidated in pioneering brands in the home and personal care sectors worldwide, and we are sure that they will bring great benefits to the health of pets”, said Andrea Jara, Global Commercial Director of Rhodia, a Solvay Group.
Considering the strong growth momentum in the Brazilian pet market, Rhodia and the MCassab Group saw an opportunity to expand their portfolio and develop innovative solutions for a fast-growing market.
“The MCassab Group brings its expertise in applications and will be responsible for the distribution of these products in the pet care sector, ensuring the high-performance delivery that the company’s customers expect,” stressed Glaucia Abraços, Head of the MCassab Business Unit.
